When my induction day started it was supposed to be like no other! A little pitocin, maybe a water-break, labor for a while then all hands ready set push. Welp! That was not at all what happened! The day of induction i call into the hospital to get a time starting a 5 am. Well was told there is no room and to call back at 9 am "hopefully things would be going better." At 9 am i was told call back at 11am still no room. 11 am comes around and i am told to come in at 1pm and that i should go eat a good meal because your induction could last a while and once you come in there is no eating. So we go out to grab lunch at Winnie's Tavern (probably one of the best burger joints in Wilmington, NC) and then off to the hospital i go. We arrive and the induction team comes in says they are getting ready to get started and the doctor would be in momentarily. Pitocin is flowing in the iv and about an hour into me being there the doctor arrives. Two seconds into the room and my birth plan has gone from a labor and delivery to an emergency c-section. Needless to say I had so health problems that made me question what the next few steps in this procedure would be. Due to the fact i was told by my neurologist no epidoral or spinal block. Needless to say the doctors do what they do and dont listen to their patients and that day i could have almost lost my life on that table. If other methods where used i might not have stressed my body as much as i did.
